Wood wicks aren’t efficient
Traditional wood wick candles have a fantastic crackle. You often see this tunnel effect which only burns half your candle.
All wicks are not the same
Many candles you have used will burn in a really nice way. What they fail to mention is that the reason for this is that the wick has a lead core.
Our Standard wick is cruelty and lead-free
The textile grade cotton wick has a patented paper filament core which increases rigidity and enhances burning. The wick is coated in a high-temperature melt wax for stability and has a self-trimming wick. it’s designed to bend at the tip into the hottest part of the flame which makes for a cleaner burn without the need for a lead core.
It has to be “just right”. Like the three bears porridge.
Each candle on this site is individually designed and extensively tested to provide a long-lasting consistent burn. It won’t get too hot and burn off all the expensive fragrances or be too cool and leave fragrance and wax in the container. This isn’t possible with a traditional wood wick which is why we have avoided them until now.
